 Hi everyone!

        First of all, I'm glad that I make it here. I can't believe that my event is over and it's time to write a reflection about this course. At first, while registering for this course, I thought that GIG 1005 Social engagement is going to be another usual subject that I have to study and do exams for passing this course. However, when I joined the briefing given by Dr. Aidil, my whole mindset has been changed. To be honest, I started to get anxious and question myself whether will things go, right after this? Do I able to complete this course?

     However, I feel at ease after meeting my team Rosshinie, Zhao Wei, Amirah, and Sam. This team really changed the way I feel about this course and helped me stay positive throughout the whole preparation for the event and until now. It was very easy to open up my ideas and work with them. They have been always there for me to guide and also support me if I needed any assistance. Our event's topic is Road to the future: Is accounting the right choice for you? Our main aim is to spread awareness about misconceptions about accounting and also passing knowledge about accounting courses and its pathway.

    During the preparation stage, I have volunteered to do the poster for our event. I was very excited about it as I have never done poster designing before. Since it was my first time designing a poster, my first attempt didn't go well. However, with guidance from Dr. Zalfa and my team members, I had successfully completed the poster. I felt really great about it and I get eager to do more designing work. Eventually, I also did the design for the e-certificate for the speaker, Dr.Noor Adwa. Next, I had also helped to create google forms like pre-evaluation form, post-evaluation form and so on. At the start, I felt difficult to create questions that will able us to understand the audience before and after the event. But as always my team members were there to help me fix it.  After all the preparation, I was really excited about the event day.

   On the event day, I had successfully done my Multech role as well as presenting misconceptions about accounting. By nature, I'm a very quiet person. As an introvert, becoming a presenter in an event is a huge improvement from my point and all these credits go to our supervisor, Dr. Zalfa. The insightful comments from Dr. Zalfa during rehearsal helped me to guide how to be engaging with an audience. I followed her guidance and tried my level best to engage with the audience during the event day. During the interactive session, the chatbox filled with many questions, and I tried to answer most of the questions. I felt really good about it as I'm passing my knowledge about accounting to my brothers and sisters.

    At this point, I'm glad that our event went well without any technical problem with full commitment from our audience and within the team. Moreover, we also did our best in the final presentation after doing a good preparation. To sum up, after conducting this event, I feel really confident about myself. I could see myself more engaging with people after this event. Moreover, my communication skills as also improved. Next, I had also gained four good friends in my uni life. Road to the Future would not be successful without my team.😍 I hope that in the future we could maintain the same friendship and more conduct virtual events. Importantly, I had gained self-satisfaction after doing this event and I feel it is a small contribution from me to society. I hope in the future, I could involve myself in programs that help to contribute more to society.👐
