Project Title

Your Ticket to Success: Excel in Accounting Subject and Planning for Future Endeavours.

 Planning Stage

At first, it was very difficult for me to come up with an idea on what project should we do because we need to do it virtually and also related with our course which is Accounting. About two or three days, I tried to think about what project that can benefits students in long-term during this pandemic, I got some ideas which is do an online talk about sharing our experiences relating to pathway after finishing up our pre-university level, tips of university intake for degree and scholarship also we do have guest transfer student from Monash University, from Australia. Since we had to do the meeting with the groupmates virtually, I was terrified because everyone was actually busy with their own work that week. However, my thought was wrong.

The meeting was very smooth since everyone was so cooperative and responsible to give their own ideas on what we should do next. Actually, from that I learnt that I should not take every single thing in our life seriously, just think positive without having to over think. After we had our first meeting through google meet, we managed to choose one project idea which is Ticket to Success. My worries became less once we had a plan in mind.

Everyone contributes suggestions for the project's flow in order to create a proposal. The planning process went smoothly because I had an incredible groupmate who were always willing to help each other. After we have submitted the proposal twice because we made some mistakes, we need to proceed with the plan.

Current Stage

The toughest part for me is to find the participants. Because I'm in charge of the registration google form hence I need to find as many as participants to join our project. At first, I was not confident that we could get the minimum participants, which is 40 people and it gave me a lot of pressure. That time, I was afraid that this event would not run smoothly as planned. In the end, we managed to get a minimum of 40 participants to register. I was so relieved and grateful for my group mates that always try to help one another to get 40 participants. Next, we also had a rehearsal of the project with our beloved lecturer, Dr Zalfa Laili and our team members.

We did the rehearsal four days before our official event started. We hope that we get to engage with all the participants and our event will go smoothly. During the live session with the participant, I was so anxious but eventually I managed to overcome it with the supportive team members. I am glad that the participants are very active and supportive. Some of them would simply introduce themselves to us what they are expecting from the event. Some of them also ask questions at the end of the event. It shows they are very focused from the beginning of the event until the end of the talk.

I really hope that the participants would still keep in touch with us as we already remind them that we created the group WhatsApp if they wanted to ask us after the event already took place. I am so proud with my group mates that we manage to make all of the agenda of our event just like we plan. Everything went well. I feel very happy as I get to interact with new people that join our event. Aside from that, this event taught me how to handle an event. Initially, it was very hard to think about it but now, I effortlessly know how to organize a big event that contributes a lot to society.

I learn new things such as interacting with the people although I do not even know the person because I need to spread the registration form and ask them if they are interested to join us. I also learnt how to use editing applications such as Canvas as before I only knew the basic ones, but now I know how to use most of the functions in it. In addition, I can improve my communication skills because during the live event where I do not have any script to read, the things that I would do at that time just think fast and talk spontaneously.  Overall, the things that I learnt during the current phase is hang in there whereby do not give up whenever you are not achieving what you need. Keep on learning and always believe in yourself. Avoid overthinking because it could harm you. Besides that, communication is a vital thing whenever you have to do the project with your groupmates. Despite everyone has a very busy schedule as they need to catch up with the dateline of the assignment, however every single one of us can prioritize wisely to balance all the works to be done on time.

Post - event

After all of the planned tasks have finished, we will proceed to do the final report and the submission of the live session of the event. During this time, our communication between team members have improved significantly.  I believe we as a groupmate are very glad that we had so much time to rant together despite discussing this project. We manage to get to know each other very well in a short time period and I gain new friends as well. The most memorable thing that I remember is our rehearsal and the live session of our event. It was actually well-organized though. Since we had only 2 weeks to prepare all of the things we needed for this event, we eventually succeeded and got through all the hardship together. We put so much effort in making this event run smoothly and we hope that all the participants would gain insights by joining our event. Even though we as a team member organize the event, we also get to learn new knowledge regarding professional papers such as ICAEW, ACCA, MCA, etc. I wish we still get the chance to conduct and organize such big event for the benefits of society in the future.

Last but not least, I would like to thank our supervisor, Dr. Zalfa for guiding us throughout this course. It was really amazing and we were actually grateful for you Dr as you managed to give all your efforts in ensuring this course would be beneficial to us. Thank you to all my teammates and GROUP 6 that are very kind and supportive from the beginning of this course. Wish everyone best of luck for future endeavours! 💗
