Hi everyone!           First of all, I'm glad that I make it here. I can't believe that my event is over and it's time to write a reflection about this course. At first, while registering for this course, I thought that GIG 1005 Social engagement is going to be another usual subject that I have to study and do exams for passing this course. However, when I joined the briefing given by Dr. Aidil, my whole mindset has been changed. To be honest, I started to get anxious and question myself whether will things go, right after this? Do I able to complete this course?      However, I feel at ease after meeting my team Rosshinie, Zhao Wei, Amirah, and Sam. This team really changed the way I feel about this course and helped me stay positive throughout the whole preparation for the event and until now. It was very easy to open up my ideas and work with them. They have been always there for me to guide and also support me if I needed any assistance. Our event's topic is Road

Transformative Journal  Hi and a very good day to to our respective lecturers and my fellow classmates. My name is Phavinna Patmanathan and I'm currently taking  my first degree for Bachelor Of Accounting in University of Malaya. Currently I am in my second semester for this course and I took this Social Engagement course because this is a compulsory course for everyone to graduate from the university and also because my lecturer advised us that 2nd semester is the perfect time to take this course. So, I decided to take this course for this semester so confidently. Before the event  To be honest, I think this course is very interesting and easy because there are lectures to teach us everyday but only have meeting with our beloved lecturer to brief about the course and also give suggestion about the project that we chose. Besides lectures. we also does not have tutorial exercise or practices to finished by the given due date also a thing that loved the most in this course. All we ha

I registered in this GIG1005 Social Engagement course since it is one of the recommended course for this semester and it was mentioned of being the last semester to offer it. I was not sure about what we were required to do in this course at first but right after the first meeting with our supervisor, Dr Zalfa, I managed to get a better understanding on the flow of the course. In group 6 itself, we were divided into smaller groups of five and I was in Team B with my four other teammates (Roketah, Phavinna, Santiya and Jian Jian). Soon, we got along well, even though we have never met before and not long after that we started discussing on the project. We finally decided to conduct a free virtual accounting class for form 5 students.      I was always been an introvert person and rarely participated in group activities that involved organizing events. I was afraid from the thought of being a facilitator during the event as I have only taught one person a time before but now, I ha

Hello good day to everyone. My name is Santiyapriya and I'm currently pursuing my degree In Bachelor Of Accounting. I am in  my second semester and i took the Social Engagement course as a part of my subjects.  - Before the event  To be honest i find this course to be quite unique since there's no any weekly lectures or tutorials instead we have to conduct projects. At first i was quite nervous since I'm someone who's not really good in communicating with others and I'll have anxiety attacks if i do so. It was challenging for me but i took this positively for me to improve myself and enhance my interpersonal skills.  My team consist members of 5 who are very friendly and supportive. We decided to conduct a program called "free virtual accounting class" for form5 students. This was a initiative from us to help out the SPM students. We had to prepare so many things before organizing a program. I had no experience doing proposal paper works but this course ga

Project Title Your Ticket to Success: Excel in Accounting Subject and Planning for Future Endeavours.  Planning Stage  At first, it was very difficult for me to come up with an idea on what project should we do because we need to do it virtually and also related with our course which is Accounting. About two or three days, I tried to think about what project that can benefits students in long-term during this pandemic, I got some ideas which is do an online talk about sharing our experiences relating to pathway after finishing up our pre-university level, tips of university intake for degree and scholarship also we do have guest transfer student from Monash University, from Australia. Since we had to do the meeting with the groupmates virtually, I was terrified because everyone was actually busy with their own work that week. However, my thought was wrong. The meeting was very smooth since everyone was so cooperative and responsible to give their own ideas on what we should do next. Ac

Pre-Event First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Zalfa, our Program Supervisor of Social Engagement, for guiding us throughout our project “2 Days Free Online Seminar”. In the beginning, I was pretty clueless as to what Social Engagement would be all about. After the first Social Engagement Briefing meeting held on 19 March 2021, I realized that I was assigned to Group 6, which will be supervised by Dr. Zalfa. After the first meeting with Dr. Zalfa, I only got a better understanding of this course. We were then divided into four small groups. I had formed a group of 5 with my friends - Racheal, Shafirah, Pei Fen, and Rachel. After that, we had a short discussion about the event we planned to organize related to our course of study. We also appointed Rachel as our team’s leader to guide us throughout this event. After a short discussion, we decided to organize a seminar related to Accounting and Economics, which is open to all SPM students. Durin

Project Title: Free Virtual Accounting Class For Form 5 Students Transformative Journal:  Assalamualaikum and Hi everyone, my name is Roketah Binti Mohd Rahsid and I am a first year student who is taking a Bachelor of Accounting at University Malaya. For today's topics, I will be sharing my experience and feelings after taking the social engagement course in my second semester at University Malaya. I hope this journal will motivate you to keep challenging yourself and improve your performance in the future. Before the event:   Honestly, I am only registered for this course as it is a compulsory subject for first year students. In the beginning for this course, I didn't really have any idea about what we will learn and do for this course. Since the name for this course is social engagement, I'm just guessing that we will do some charity projects to engage with the community. However, I’m concerned about how this project will be carried out in this current situation where t
