Transformative Journal, NURFARIDA HANIEM BINTI SUHANA SAFAR - TEAM D (U2003279)
At first, I actually couldn’t be sure what exactly this subject was. But after the first meeting and being given a briefing by Dr Aidil I finally have some ideas about the learning outcomes for this subject. I feel very disappointed for not being able to run this project face to face because for me this project will be more fun and interesting if I can have face to face interaction. But I need to accept the fact that in the pandemic right now, I'm not able to have that kind of interaction.
As everyone knows, as first year students who are unable to experience real life as undergraduate university students, we do not have the opportunity to find more friends, spend more time with friends and share the ups and downs in life as students. Unlike other subjects, this subject has helped me gain more friends and we are getting closer day by day. We have a meeting and discussion almost every week. Starting by discussing the program and ending with sharing our stories and experiences about our online learning journey. This subject not only strengthens the relationship with those outside but also between us the first year students.
As someone who has zero experience in being a speakers or conducting an online seminar, the idea of organizing one is pretty nerve wrecking for me. Throughout the process of running this program, I have learned many things from Dr Zalfa Laili such as how to get accurate information, be careful in sharing any information and be more creative in making presentations to the public. Besides, I learned a lot of new things while searching for information about ACCA and scholarship. Due to a lack of exposure, I didn't even get to gain more information about these two important things when I was a SPM leaver. After I find out more about this, I'm excited to share it with others so they don't end up like me.
On 21st May, I woke up earlier than usual. To be honest I couldn’t sleep well that night since I was thinking about the program. As early as 8 a.m. we received a Whatsapp from participants regarding the program. The program started exactly at 9 a.m. as planned. Throughout the program we encountered some internet issues but we managed to get through it. Here I discovered that teamwork and communication are important towards the success of the program. During the sharing session with the guest speaker, I felt like I was one of the participants of the program. I was impressed by the way she presented and was also inspired by the way she learned during this pandemic season. I got a lot of tips and knowledge about life as a student abroad. Finally the program successfully ended at 11.30am.
From the bottom of my heart, I have a lot of fun and enjoyable moments through this program. Thank you!
